The CMMC Readiness Gap: Why Many Small Manufacturers Are Unprepared

Manufacturing Tomorrow recently highlighted a growing challenge across the Defense Industrial Base — small manufacturers are far less prepared for CMMC than they think. Michael Eaton, Executive Director of the Missouri Association of Manufacturers, puts it plainly: "The gap between where an owner might think they are and the reality of their situation is often significant." SSE COO Bob Duffy backs that up with data from more than 60 gap assessments SSE has conducted, revealing a striking disconnect between self-assessed compliance scores and reality.
