SSE’s CEO Talks Cybersecurity and Compliance For Missouri Manufacturers On KMOX News Radio

SSE is working with the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM) to assist its members with training and compliance with evolving cybersecurity regulations.

In 2020 the DoD released the DFARS Interim Final Rule, which strengthened existing cybersecurity regulations and presented DoD contractors with more rigorous expectations than they’ve been subject to before. Unfortunately, many small businesses and manufacturers may be unfamiliar or unprepared to deal with these new expectations.

"For small and mid-sized organizations where, let's face it, manufacturing is their business, not IT or cybersecurity, it's a bigger reach for them to get all of the systems in place," said Elizabeth Niedringhaus, CEO of SSE, on KMOX News Radio.

That’s why SSE has launched a new initiative, working with the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM) to provide training and other resources that will support their efforts to comply with NIST 800-171 and CMMC.

“The cybersecurity landscape is complex and constantly evolving,” said Michael Eaton, Executive Director of MAM, in a press release announcing the partnership. “Whether they’re working with the DoD directly or as a subcontractor, Missouri manufacturers need to be prepared to meet these requirements. As a long-time DOD contractor, SSE has a proven track record and established processes for helping businesses unravel the most complex IT and cybersecurity challenges, and we are pleased to provide our members with their trusted expertise.”

As a Registered Provider Organization (RPO) certified by the CMMC Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB), SSE is prepared to guide DoD contractors and MAM members through the compliance process.
